Putting together this Southern Revivals Best of 2012 Furniture Revivals really put things into perspective for me. Like first of all, where does a year go anymore?? You blink and you might just miss it! And second, it's hard for me to believe Southern Revivals isn't even a year old yet. While some of my posts date back to 2011 I technically didn't start my business until April of 2012. All posts prior to that were originally posted on my personal blog well before I started Southern Revivals.
I am amazed at how much has been accomplished in such a short time especially since most of it was totally unplanned and certainly unexpected. I feel very blessed and grateful and not a day goes by that I don't feel like pinching myself just to make sure this is all real.
So, here's the best of 2012 as determined by your visits to my blog and here's to an even better 2013 for each and every one of us! Cheers!
And it all started here! Just remember, if you want to start a new business, corner the least likely member of your family to say 'No' and ask them to be your guinea pig. See more pics of the process and get the whole scoop here.
And when I posted this gem little did I know that you guys would like it so much you'd pin it to Pinterest a whopping 35,656 times!! Get the deets on my Pottery Barn inspired dresser revival right, here!
This is one of my personal favorites! While it was gorgeous to start with, in my opinion, sometimes we appreciate something a little more modern. And that's exactly what this Horchow inspried revival was all about. See the transformation here.
Talk about a fan favorite! I'm afraid you guys are going to egg my house if I don't tell you EXACTLY how I did this! Right. Now. Well, I just might. {You'll want to be subscribed to my Southern Revivals YouTube Channel to find out!} Until then, check out the Twins' Revival, here.
This one I wanted to keep for myself! It comes complete with monogrammed pulls!! See the awesome transformation that surprised even me, right here.
I love the story behind this piece! I'll give you a hint, it involves the King of England! Read all about it and see how much work was involved in this antique revival, here.
This is one of those transformations that sits with you for a while. I loved it before, during and after I finished it but ever since it's gone on to it's new home I have to walk by the perfect spot for it in mine. Then of course I'm reminded that nothing so lovely will ever come along again. Ok. Maybe that's not quite true but I still wish I had kept it! You know how you find the perfect piece in the store but decide to wait on getting it only to go back and find it's not there. You get that sinking feeling and then you long for it for like, ever. See why, here.
And this one I did keep! It's sitting in my entryway as I type. You'll never guess what I store in there. Find out here!
One of my most recent revivals. I'm in love with how it turned out - even though I had to practically rebuild it. I'm looking for another one like it to do for my son's room. Can you guess what the top is made from? Find out here.
And there you have it! Southern Revivals Best of 2012. I have some great new things planned for the new year. Exciting things happening, too. I can't wait for 2013. But I'm curious, if you could choose, what would you like to see from Southern Revivals in 2013?
Happy New Year!
